The Hickman County Public Library encourages gifts, bequests and memorial gifts to the library. A large portion of our operating budget comes from these types of donations. Large donors are honored with a plaque at the library or other appropriate recognition.

Benefactors have included:

  • Pearl Forrester Flick
  • Mary Stanfill
  • Hunt McClannahan
  • Franklin Nix
  • The Gannett Foundation
  • The Levi Foundation
  • The Charlie Thompson Memorial Fund
  • Lillie Bogle

The library keeps a selection of books suitable for memorials which may be purchased and placed in the library in memory or in honor of individuals. Books may also be purchased elsewhere and donated to the library. These books include a bookplate with the name of the honoree and the giver.
