The total circulation for the Library System in July was 5313, August was 4441, September 4031, October 4153
The Director accepted the resignation of Allison Gordon who found another job. Ashley Jones was hired to full time position at East Hickman. We are quietly looking for a part time person for East – 8 hours per week 4-7 on Thursday and 9-2 on Saturdays. 16 hours per pay period.
Summer Boyd is attending PLMI class September 8-13 at Fall Creek Falls. She is scheduled to graduate in April of 2025.
Mina attend a TEL update workshop on August 6. Gayla and Donna attend a virtual Summer Reading Roundup. They along with Ashley from East attended a SRP Conference at TSLA. All staff attended a Conflict in the workplace workshop on October 25.
Fall book sale was held October 15-26. The library system earned $1133.40 from the sale.
Gayla has put together a Winter Reading Bingo for December 1- January 31. Has gotten several local banks to donate prizes.
Gayla has started a Homeschool Art Club program to meet once a month with limit of 15 participants. The first meeting had 27 attend (children and parents). It was so popular that another was added, dividing the group by ages.
East Hickman Library has Miss Winnie’s Story Hour that meets once a month starting in September.
The library has been awarded 24-25 Tech Grant. Grant is 50/50 grant, pay for everything up front and reimbursed 50%. The plan is to purchase 3 desktop computers, 1 for Centerville 2 for East, 3 new monitors and purchase equipment to set Ubiquiti (cloud based wifi system) for open wifi. The ubiquiti system was installed Oct 16.
Community Room bathroom at East has been fixed.
Mina ordered more library cards. These are a new design, haven’t a new design since starting using bar
coded patron cards in 2003.
Winter Hours started November 4 going thru March 1.
Question whether age classification for seniors should be included in circulation and borrowing policy.
The accepted age right now is 55 to be classified as a senior. The advantage for a senior classification is seniors do not pay fines.
